The 14-storey office building in the Lyoner Straße 19 in the district of Niederrad in Frankfurt am Main, unused for several years, has been redesigned and redeveloped into a 17-storey, residential building.

In the middle of 2010, ninety-eight residential units and a commercial unit with a total rental area of 6,900 sqm were completed in the Lyoner Straße 19.

The spacious, partly furnished two- and three-room apartments are distinguished by exceptional layouts and a high quality of living. This residential solution is mainly targeted at the staff of the Bürostadt Niederrad (to date: Lyoner Quartier) and the nearby airport.

The Sky-Apartments at Lyoner Straße 19 are characterised as the first Redevelopment from an office city towards an attractive mixed use district.

While keeping to the existing construction the framework of the building has been altered. The so far unattractive but pragmatic cube was given a new, distinct form thanks to the enlarged glass surfaces and a band façade - reminiscent of the classical modern style. Through adding three storeys to the high-rise building it has also gained a better proportioned structure.
